Taxes are like tattoos: Sure, you can do them yourself, but you’ll never regret hiring a professional. I'm that guy for taxes. (Interestingly enough, I also have some tattoos. But I hired a professional for that, too.)

I'm a Certified Public Accountant based in New York City. I like empowering people to learn more about their tax obligations, record-keeping, and all the awesome tax law that might help you save money.

And my visor doesn’t fall far from the tree. My father—and partner—Andy Carson, is also a CPA, and runs the Florida branch of Carson & Co.

Does Phil have a lot of accounting experience?

Sure does. Phil went to the University of Florida where he received a Master’s of Accounting and Bachelor’s of Science graduating Cum Laude from the Fisher School of Accounting, a top-10 nationwide accounting program. Then he worked at Ernst & Young focusing on tax compliance for asset management, hedge funds, private equity, and high net-worth individuals. He also spent time as the Fund Accountant for Scopia Capital, a $5B hedge fund, where he built custom tools to monitor wash sales, straddles, QDI, QCCs, and more fun stuff like LT capital gains.

Do you have to live in New York or Florida to work with Phil?

Definitely not. CPAs can prepare tax returns for all 50 states and with the wonderful world of technology, we can build a wonderful pen-pal business relationship from sea to shining sea!
